Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in marketing, advertising or related field).
  • Minimum ten years of experience in media, marketing, or advertising field required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop people and $50M+ in advertising budget/assets across all media types;
  • Specific media agency or sports marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience with linear TV, CTV, programmatic media (DSP/DMP), social media and multi-platform campaign planning and reporting.
  • Experience is required in developing and evaluating media ROI through a combination or research and KPIs.
  • Candidates must have experience with media planning, buying & reporting software, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and strong presentation skills.
  • This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of traditional and emerging media platforms, demonstrated ability to extract strategic insights from data and analytics, an ROI mindset, and the ability to distill complex topics down to clear recommendations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and optimize the PGA TOUR's $75M+ in VIK (value-in-kind) media assets including TV, Digital, Social, Print, Radio, and Outdoor media.
  • Develop and oversee the national media strategy for all PGA TOUR campaigns and brands, including but not limited to Live Under Par, FedExCup, WGCs, THE PLAYERS, The Presidents Cup, PGA TOUR Champions, and Web.com Tour.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on using paid media to accelerate fan growth.
  • Steward/expand current media partner relationships as needed; Establish and lead new relationships as appropriate.
  • Lead selection, implementation and use of TOUR Media software products: Adobe Data Management Platform (DMP & DSP) and MediaOcean Lumina for Media Value/Schedule Tracking of VIK and Paid Media.
  • Manage and mentor Brand Media team members and foster their personal development.
  • Oversee media agency vendor relationships and subsequent management of the work performed by the vendors.
  • Work alongside Marketing Services team and TOUR Executive Directors to oversee and direct media plan initiatives for Championship Management events, in order to accomplish two primary goals: #1) increase tournament sales and attendance (corporate hospitality and general admissions) and #2) generate larger charitable donations.
  • Provide media consultation to TPCs, Corporate Marketing, New Ventures, and other TOUR constituents that lack a dedicated media resource.
  • Provide strategic guidance on best use of available media resources, opportunities for improvement, etc.
  • Contribute to departmental operations, including staffing, budget management/ cost containment, and internal communication.
