Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations or hospitality
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience; 3 plus years of event/hospitality experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, including public speaking
  • A positive, energetic attitude with a focus on great customer service and strong relationship building
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and adaptable
  • Ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)



  • Manage and oversee the tournament volunteer program, acting as the main point of contact for the volunteer chair team and the more than 500 volunteers

           o   Grow and improve volunteer program
           o   Oversee managing the volunteer registration and communication website/portal
           o   Work with charity volunteer committees in addition to traditional volunteers to help ensure operational success
           o   Coordinate volunteer logistics in conjunction with the volunteer chair team (e.g. golf certificates, referral program,                        lunch counts, etc.)
           o   Coordinate the tournament volunteer party

  • Responsible for execution of the Sentry Tournament of Champions Pro-Am

           o   Plan and execute Draw and Awards parties and additional pro-am hospitality
           o   Coordinate pro-am shopping spree
           o   Organize logistics of pro-am through registration forms and online registration portal
           o   Help with execution of premium pro-am program
           o   Communicate with pro-am guests via online portal or via newsletters to keep them apprised of field updates and to o                    keep them actively engaged

  • Assist Tournament Services Manager (TSM) team in managing relationship with Ritz-Carlton Kapalua and any other hotel partners, with the focus on room blocks
  • Act as point of contact for event team from Sentry Insurance including assisting events and marketing team achieve tournament goals in client hosting, functions, etc.
  • Support tournament sales efforts, as needed, through the development of sales materials and involvement in sales meetings and opportunities including working with General Manager on ideas to help grow marketing efforts and community involvement
  • During tournament week, oversee projects and events as needed to support the operations and logistics of the event, in concert with the tournament TSM and Operations managers (e.g. player childcare, community events, volunteer party, work with TSMs on honorary observer program, hospitality venue monitoring, etc.)
  • Attend events in the community year-round, along with other tournament staff, as a representative of the Sentry Tournament of Champions/PGA TOUR
  • Assist with accounting, through the creation and administration of Purchase Orders, Invoices, following up on A/R, and other tournament items
  • Fulfill and prepare hospitality and trade agreements
  • Other tournament support items as identified (e.g. answering fan inquiries via phone and email, preparing winner gifts throughout the year, assisting with necessary permits, ordering office supplies, working on tournament credentials)
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned
