The Event Staff and Front Gates Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of all event staff on property and entrance gates at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). The candidate will be responsible for supervising all entry gate activities and day-to-day event staffing logistics and supervision. The candidate will help deliver a consistent and exceptional guest experience by assisting in the planning and execution of all events. Events include, but are not limited to, motorsport races, festivals, concerts and/or private events. This position will report to the Executive VP of Operations.


These responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and members and exceptional leadership to event staff and employees.
  • You will serve as an ambassador for COTA to enhance & promote service standards leading up to & during events.
  • Manage a team of front of house staff including orientation, scheduling, training, and general supervision.
  • Create event staffing templates while also maintaining budget parameters.Scheduling will be in conjunction with COTA Staff, staffing vendors, head of security, front of house manager, head of ticketing, & event managers on duty to create staffing needs related to the overall guest experience.
  • Work closely with COTA marketing staff and General Manager of the amphitheater & Bold soccer team on messaging to customers on front gate issues, concerns, changes, etc.
  • Oversee all opening and closing duties of the housekeeping staff and security staff are completed correctly and that cleanliness and technical maintenance are maintained.
  • Responsible for the operation of ticket scanners, security staff including wands and mags, and other electronic items used for guest entry.
  • Responsible to coordinate with facilities on proper lighting for ingress and egress areas as well as the unloading and loading zones of parking shuttles.
  • Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in their area.
  • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines with the utmost of respect and calmness.
  • Create workflow for all temporary employees, from sign in to sign out.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and sponsorship on VIP guests, signage, and other initiatives that are sales and marketing driven.
  • On non-event days, work toward future event planning so game days are seamless.
  • Assist with purchase requisition forms (PRF), acquiring PO#s, tracking invoices, and keeping organized records of actual event costs.
  • Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and persona l appearance and hygiene.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Front Gate or Front of House management at sporting venues or state fair venues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management is essential.
  • Excellent IT Skills including power point, Word, and Excel. CAD Drawing experience would be a plus.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) candidates will be a huge plus for this role.

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events
  • COTA is an event-based business where working nights, weekend's, and holidays are part of the on-site management expectation
