The Director, Marketing Communications provides a consistent voice to MKTG’s marketing communications.  As a marketer of MKTG, this individual will elevate the profile of our agency, our work and our people through media relationships and placements, award submissions, executive speaking engagements and thought leadership.  Develops and activates proactive public relations strategies to position MKTG as a leader in sports, entertainment and lifestyle marketing across Sales, PR, Social, Content and general Sales & Marketing functions and integrate our messaging within the larger Dentsu umbrella (Entertainment & Sports business offering).


Responsibilities Include:


Public Relations:

Central point of contact for communications activities.
Develop a formal plan of communications objectives and strategies to achieve goals.
Directly responsible for managing all aspects of PR for MKTG agencies, both externally and internally; collaborating with Dentsu.
Identify opportunities to increase exposure of our agency, promoting the agency within the media/trade while building mutually beneficial relationships with the media and all parties involved.
Develop “thought-leadership” for MKTG through white paper creation, by-lines, speaking engagements, interviews, conference attendance, podcasts, etc.
Provide media training for executives.
Work with media/trade to communicate MKTG’s unique positioning, capabilities, POV and agency vision within the Entertainment, Sport and Lifestyle Marketing space
Work to integrate social & digital strategies, content and tactics into all forms of PR communication; create the social-sharing and amplification dynamic
Serve as the primary point of contact/liaison between MKTG teams and client partners relative to PR & marketing strategies
Assist, along with creative, production, client services and other departments in development of proposal responses when necessary.
Actively participate in all Sales & Marketing meetings and functions


Assist in the evolution of MKTG’s positioning and messaging in the industry
Collaborate on the development and implementation of communication strategies for MKTG marketing materials, award submissions, strategic partnerships, recruitment messaging and internal employee brand and communications
Work to establish MKTG’s voice in the industry
If warranted, work in partnership with creative resources to evolve the MKTG brand identity; driver of all brand guidelines.
Assist in building awareness & visibility for the MKTG brand
Monitor trends, stories and developments that impact MKTG, Dentsu, our competitors and key people in the industry.
Provide oversight and continuity check for tone and voice of all agency branded materials and tools/platforms.


In collaboration with MKTG Chief Revenue Officer and creative leads, help to build and implement a strategic, social media strategy and plan.
Directly oversee and manage all aspects of MKTG’s social amplification including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube LinkedIn, etc.
Build an editorial and cultural calendar
Develop SOP’s and best practices to help capture relevant content (our work) to share.
Evolve MKTG’s tone, voice, storytelling and dialogue
Build the MKTG social community:  Internally and externally

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of traditional PR/MarCom experience and solid understanding of the evolving social & digital solutions needed for agency amplification
Proven track record of elevating companies’ profiles in the media as well as in industry rankings
Excellent oral and written skills are necessary
Experience working for an agency is key
Experience working in the experiential marketing and sports/entertainment consulting space is desired
Solid network of media and trade relationships a must
Must have the ability to think strategically and see “the big picture”.
Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be a team player and be able to interact & collaborate with staff at all levels of the company and its operating units.
Public speaking skills are necessary

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Four (4) year college degree
